Records were melted and sculpted to form a cascading wave, dotted with bursts of colorful labels. The resulting structure speaks to the inevitable waves of technology that render each successive generation of recordable media obsolete. The piece also aims to physically manifest the ephemerality of music as well as one man’s musical tastes, as represented by his personal record collection.

World Sand Sculpture Festival 2009

“Fairy tales and legends” is the theme of this year’s World Sand Sculpture Festival now underway at the Tottori Sand Dunes in Tottori prefecture. On display (until May 31) are 19 massive works crafted by world-class sculptors from ten nations. The artists used around 2,700 tons of sand and took about two weeks to complete their works. Can you identify the fairy tales and legends depicted in these sand sculptures?

Molly Brill Watercolor Portraits

Brill Molly (Molly Brill) - 20-year-old artist from America. Began to paint as a child, but began painting seriously in 15 years. At the same time, she moved to Europe and entered the art school, where studying for 2 years. In 2007, Molly began to paint portraits of his friends and acquaintances in watercolor and acrylic.
